Transfer DVD Movies to the iPhone SE or 9.7-inch iPad Pro for Watching on the Road

In March this year Apple added two new members to the iOS family – the iPhone SE and iPad Pro 9.7’’. The iPhone SE works well for those who have a persistent pursuit of one-handed operation and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is appropriate for those who like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro but are daunted by its high price.

If you have just bought an iPhone SE or 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and want to move some nice DVD movies to it so that you can enjoy them on your way to work or school, here I will show you how to rip videos from DVDs and save them in MP4 container format (H.264 codec) that is playable by the iPhone SE or 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Step 1: Download and install Tipard DVD ripper, which is capable of bypassing copy protections on DVD-Video discs to convert the videos to almost all current popular video formats like MP4, M4V, MKV, WebM VP9, MOV, WMV, etc.

Step 2: Load DVD. Place the desired DVD into your computer’s DVD drive, launch the Tipard DVD ripper and then click the “Load Disc” button to import title(s) from the DVD to the application. Loading DVD Folders and IFO files from hard drive is also supported.

Step 3: Select the “H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Video (*.mp4)” format for your output video file by clicking the “Profile:” pull-down menu. Choose this format because the MP4 container is supported by virtually all mobile media devices and the H.264 is today’s most efficient video encoder. In addition, if you are an advanced user, you can click the “Settings” button to customize the output video’s quality and size.

Step 4: Initialize the conversion by clicking the bright blue “Convert” button in the lower-right of the main window.

Once the conversion is completed, click the “Open Folder” button the find the resulting MP4 file and transfer it to your iPhone SE or 9.7-inch iPad Pro via iTunes.

Display size & resolution
5.1’’ display with 2560x1440-pixel resolution
5.5 display with 2560x1440-pixel resolution
Storage

32GB (expandable to 200GB)

Second, convert your DVDs to digital videos that are best suited to your Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge’s display screen and memory capacity, simultaneously considering the video encoding efficiency.

1. Go to DVD0101.Com, download and install Tipard DVD Ripper. This ripper app is designed for DVD fans that want to be able to play their DVD movies from hard drives or mobile media player devices, not just from DVD-ROM drives or DVD players. You can throw encrypted DVD discs, DVD ISO image files, and DVD folders to this ripper app, then it helps you quickly generate digital videos in various formats like MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WMV, WebM, etc.

2. Insert the DVD, which you are going to put onto your Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge, into your computer.

3. Run Tipard DVD Ripper, click on the Load Disc button, then it will start scanning and loading the DVD from your DVD drive.

4. Find the word Destination: at the bottom of the app’s screen and click the Browse button to set the output video file path.

5. This is a crucial step – choosing the output container format and setting the transcoding parameters:

5-1. Press the Profile drop-down menu and then choose the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Video (*.mp4) as the output container format.

5-2. Click on the Settings button and then set up the trancoding parameters as follows:

  • Video Resolution: 720x480 or 768x576. Do not enhance the resolution to make it close to the Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge’s 2560x1440. That won’t contribute to the output video quality and will increase the output file size.
  • Video Frame Rate: Keep original. Unreasonable changes will result in the video stream being out of sync with the audio stream.
  • Video Encoder: H.264. H.264 is today’s most efficient video encoding engine.
  • Video Bit Rate: 2000kbps or 2500kbps.
  • Audio Sample Rate: 44100 Hz.
  • Audio Channel: 2 Channels stereo.
  • Audio Encoder: AAC. AAC is an efficient audio encoder with good compatibility.
  • Audio Bit Rate: 128kbps.

6. Hit the Convert button. With the above transcoding settings, Tipard DVD Ripper should take 20-30 minutes to convert a 2-hour DVD movie and the size of the resulting MP4 video will be around 600MB.

Finally, find the resulting MP4 video file in the destination folder you set, transfer it to your Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge, and enjoy!

Free to Recover Lost Data from CD, DVD, Blu-ray Discs

Here are three common data loss scenarios on optical media (CD’s/DVD’s/Blu-ray’s):

  • The disc gets unreadable due to the physical defects such as scratches, chips, different spots on the surface.
  • An error occurs during the video recording or disc finalizing process in DVD camcorders.
  • Improper or incorrect operations when writing/burning data to a disc like using different burning software in the same disc burning task, accidently erasing the existing data on the disc, etc.

If your valuable data such as family videos & photos, work documents, etc. stored on CD’s/DVD’s/Blu-ray’s was lost in the three ways above, before you turn to the high-priced data recovery services I suggest you try to recover them by your own hands with the CD Recovery Toolbox which is a freeware designed for recovering data on CD’s/DVD’s/Blu-ray’s lost due to physical disc damages and incorrect disc burnings. There is no guarantee that CD Recovery Toolbox will retrieve your lost files, but you’ll never know unless you try.

Want to rip a DVD to iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and other models? Here is a simple, fast DVD Ripper & Converter application.

Steps of using CD Recovery Toolbox to recover lost data from CD’s/DVD’s/Blu-ray’s:

Step 1. Click here to download the free CD Recovery Toolbox, and install it.

Step 2. Launch this Toolbox, select the drive with your corrupted disc and then click Next.

Step 3. Select target directory where the recovered files will be saved to on your hard drive, and then click Next. The additional information of the source drive and target drive, including Disk Label, Disk Size, Drive Type, Free Space, and FAT Type, are displayed. Ensure there is adequate space on target drive for saving the recovered files.

Step 4. In this dialog box you will see a list of found files on your disc, check the files/folders you are looking for or click the Check All button, then click the Save button to restore them.

If necessary, click on the Settings button and customize the resulting MP4 video’s quality and file size by adjusting the output parameters like Codec, Bitrate, Frame rate, Resolution, etc.

Step 4: Tell the ripper where to save the resulting MP4 file by clicking the Browse button, and then click on the Convert button.
